Medicare is health insurance for people age 65 or older, under 65 with certain disabilities, and any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Medicare Part B helps cover some preventive services to help maintain a person’s health and to keep certain illnesses from getting worse. Physical Therapy is both a preventive service and rehabilitative service, both of which are covered through Medicare.

After you pay your yearly deductible for Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance), Medicare pays its share (80%), and you pay your share (20%) of the cost of physical therapy. Medicare will keep paying its share for the physical therapy services until the total amount paid, including the deductible and co-insurance, reaches the physical therapy limit. You may qualify for an exception to the physical therapy limits (which would allow Medicare to pay for services after you reach the limits) if the services are medically necessary.

Medicare is accepted by Physical Therapy in New Jersey, Fitness in Therapy, a New Jersey Physical Therapy Center, located in Sea Girt, New Jersey.
